What to Wear for Your Family Photo Session

The most common question we get before a family session is, "What should we wear?" Here's our simple guide:
- Coordinate, Don't Match: Instead of everyone in white shirts and jeans, choose a color palette of 3-4 complementary colors and mix them throughout your outfits.
- Consider Your Location: Are you shooting at a beach, a forest, or in the city? Let your environment inspire your color choices. Earth tones work well in nature, while bolder colors can pop in an urban setting.
- Think About Texture & Layers: Adding textures (like knits, denim, or lace) and layers (like jackets or cardigans) adds visual interest and depth to your photos.
- Prioritize Comfort: This is especially important for kids! If you're comfortable, you'll look more relaxed and natural in your photos. Avoid anything too restrictive.
- Avoid Loud Logos & Busy Patterns: Solid colors or subtle patterns are best, as they keep the focus on your family's faces and interactions.
Remember, the goal is for your outfits to complement your family's connection, not to be the main event.
